Sheep and their lambs are turned out into the fields in good weather. Geese are laying well now. Most of their eggs are collected and incubated, but we leave the final 6-10 eggs for each goose to incubate herself. This also applies to our Norfolk Black turkeys.

In the polytunnels and greenhouse, raised bed preparation and sowing is underway. Outside, vegetable areas are cleared and prepared as weather allows. Parsnips are sown now. Plum trees start to blossom this month, we hope for few frosts so the blooms aren't damaged, as this affects our crop later in the year. Rows of black plastic is laid outside to provide a weed-suppressing cover for field vegetables.
